Sihing John Davey

Instructor John Davey started training Wing Chun at the Leyton branch under the tuition of Sifu David McKenzie in September 1998. Having had no experience of training in a martial art before, he had to work hard to make any progress along with the help and patience of Sifu and his Si-Hing's Frank, Tony, Chris, Spencer and Glen.

Sihing John Davey

He started assisting Sifu and his Si-Hings at the Leyton branch in 2003.

Instructor John Davey is currently assisting his Sifu at the Woodford branch which opened in October 2007. He regularly attends instructor and student seminars conducted by Si Gung Garry McKenzie. He has also visited Norway to train with fellow Norwegian students.

Despite training with The Wing Chun School for 9 years, Instructor John Davey continues to learn and refine his Wing Chun.

Although on the face of it he says he finds Wing Chun to be a relatively simple system compared to other martial arts, the outward appearance of simplicity in its concepts and techniques masks a greater depth to the art form.  It is this depth that makes Wing Chun, for Instructor John Davey, a continuous learning process which he has greatly enjoyed, and will continue to do so for many years to come.

He is also the web master for The Wing Chun School and is responsible for the updating etc. of the website information.
