FAQS

How will you prevent the transmission and spread of the virus?

We have produced guidelines, for our instructors, as recommended by UK Active and the Amateur Martial Association, in line with government recommendations. In it the main points covered are;

  • Washing/sanitising hands
  • Maintaining social distancing
  • Cleaning of regularly touched surfaces
  • Maintaining well ventilated training spaces
  • Limiting numbers
  • Ensuring individuals self-isolate if required
  • Ensuring the vulnerable and high risk are safe
  • Keeping students and instructors informed

In addition, all branch instructors must conduct a risk assessment before they reopen. These will be posted on the website.

How will fees be paid?

We will only accept contactless payment. Please discuss with your branch instructor if you have any queries.

How many students can attend the class?

Numbers will be limited and dependent on the size of the space being used.

Do we need to wear a mask?

No, you do not need to wear a mask. We are doing everything we can to ensure that 2m social distancing is observed at all our schools. However, you may wear a mask if you choose.

Are new students permitted to start?

Yes. However, they MUST contact the relevant branch instructor to make an appointment. Turning up unannounced will result in them being instructed to return at a later date after making an appointment.

Are spectators allowed?

We are not allowing spectators at this time, as this will put a strain on social distancing and the monitoring of other safety measures in place. We hope this will change in the near future.

What should I do if I do not have membership and insurance?

Speak to the instructor at the branch you attend.

What should I do if I show symptoms of the virus?

You should follow the government guidelines for self-isolating. You MUST also inform the branch instructor immediately.

Will there be gradings?

Gradings are suspended for all adults and for children who are on blue to brown belt. Children who are on white to orange belts will be permitted to take a grading (to resume in January 2021). All our safety measures will be adhered to during a grading.
